Young Scientist: Pen Ho

The latest edition of Guinness Book of Records features Pen Ho, one of the youngest recipients of the Young Scientist Award,  at the ripe age of seven from Rise Academy. When asked about his strong interest in Science, the child fondly reminisces that his first time in a STEM class was when he was six years old, they were shown an animal video and that was when he realized that he was interested in science. Pen Ho also mentioned that he liked the nature aspect of science because he says, “I like learning and studying about animals and their whats and hows”.

The youngling credits Mr.Archer, this STEM teacher for piqueing his interest in science and nature, “He’s my favorite science fellow”, says the young mind.

Throughout the science project, he enjoyed learning and experimenting with new things along with Miss Esmer and Miss Rottman who had been his helping hand through and through and he realized that if you try new things you can accomplish things that you didn’t know you can, this lesson being some of the golden words that he aspires to follow throughout his life

Pen Ho aspires to become a paleontologist so that he can discover new dinosaurs and contribute to the very subject that gave him life

Concluding the interview, one advice the young scientist gives to his peers is, if you want to you can try. Pen Ho, stands as an example that you are never too young or old to experiment, and we applaud Pen Ho for being such.
